Choosing a Masai Mara Safari
Masai Mara is Kenya's leading game reserve. Definitely the most popular and most visited park in East Africa, a Masai Mara safari is the ultimate wildlife experience.
An Ideal safari to Masai Mara is 3 days, 2 nights. With four game drives and an option to spend entire day in the park with parked lunches. This safari is short enough, yet satisfactory for those travellers without many days for holiday. Yet many other people still choose to spend only one night there for the shortest Masai Mara safari with two game drives.
4 Days gives you most of the Masai Mara experience whereas the option to combine with Lake Nakuru National Park offers great variety. Naivasha is best to visit if interested in a walking safari at the Crescent Island. Here you have opportunity to see animals real close by. However you will take a boat ride to the Cresent Island. In addition, there a many adventurous travellers who like Hells Gate National Park for to hike or biking.
Migration safaris are best undertaken during the months of July, August, September & October. The famous river crossings take place in the month July and Masai Mara is busiest during this month. Please note that migration safaris in July need advance booking because it is really challenging to get accommodation in the last minute.
Accommodation in Masai Mara
The safari price is largely determined by the choice of accommodation in Masai Mara. To make it easy to make a choice, the following are the options:
1. Budget Camping Safari - Own Tent (ideal for larger groups e.g. 6+)
In a budget camping safari, we carry our tents and pitch them up in ideal places especially in the precincts of hotels with camping grounds and facilities. Access to their washrooms, hot showers and relaxing at their restaurants / bars makes the camping easy. We bring our own cook and supplies. You bring your sleeping bag.

2. Budget Tented Camp Safari
Here, you are booked into a budget tented camp with ensuite tents (hot showers and flush toilets). The tents have concrete floors and quite spacious. A writing desk and safe are equally made available. Some of the most popular budget tented camps are Enchoro Wildlife Camp, Masai Manyatta Camp, Acacia Camp, Riverside Camp and Mara Sidai Camp. Meals and security are equally provided. Mosquito netting in the tents provided. Some of them have been known to offer great services for budget.

3. Mid Range Tented Camp Safari
Just like above, their tents are ensuite, but a touch of luxury. A good mid range camp will have a swimming pool, better meals and service. Mid range tented camps also offer complete packages that include game drives, drinks (like beer and house wines) etc. Where game drives charges in the package are ideal we recommend a fly in to Masai Mara.

4. Top Range Tented Camp Safari
Some tented camps in this category are the most opulent and priced that some famous lodges. Luxurious accommodation is noted in the decor, room ambience, drapery, cuisine, privacy, and most distinguished service. Some are set in the heart of Masai Mara conservation and overflow zones making the most remote, serene and great for intimate holidays. With large areas left to explore by yourselves, you wildlife safari will be most rewarding as you traverse in a 4x4 safari vehicle.
Definitely, the most ideal way to get there is to fly into the closest airstrip where your host will be waiting to take you to the camp and eventually drive you back on the day of departure.

5. Masai Mara Lodge Safari
The are standard lodges, mid range lodges and top range lodges in Masai Mara. Basically these have key facilities which include swimming pools, air-conditioned rooms, gourmet restaurants, game drives and special activities.
